The Dog Days of Summer

Well the Dog Days of Summer are already here. With a forecast of 95 + for the next 10 days the dogs have taken shelter inside. Even Stonewall has decided the heat isn't worth bug catching, lizard chasing, or frog hunting. He will go outside for maybe 10 to 15 minutes and then bark to come back inside.
Stonewall has been staying downstairs on the Green Couch in the Family Room so he can look out the window.
While Penelope has hibernated upstairs on the loft couch on top of Bernice's comfy blanket

Poor Jonah has USAR Training for 10 days straight.. so what is USAR training you ask .. Wikipedia defines it below:

Urban search and rescue (abbreviated as USAR,[1] also known as Urban SAR - or US&R in the United States[2]) involves the location, extrication, and initial medical stabilization of victims trapped in confined spaces due to natural disasters, structural collapse, transportation accidents, mines and collapsed trenches.
USAR teams in different countries may be organised in a variety of ways, but they are often associated with firefighting services[3][4]
The increasingly complex methods and procedures, and the modern ability to bring in teams from far afield has brought a very strong drive for standardization within nations and internationally, most obvious in the role of the UN’s International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) in large natural disasters.[5]
Urban search-and-rescue is considered a multi-hazard discipline, as it may be needed for a variety of hazards including earthquakes, cyclones, storms and tornadoes, floods, dam failures, technological accidents, terrorist activities, and hazardous materials releases.

So Jonah is out in 95+ degree heat in suits like the ones below.

Lets hope no one in the class including Jonah gets overheated and passes out! Its going to be a long 10 days for both of us. Jonahs classes can run 12 hours in one day and with all he is doing that means him coming home eating and going straight to bed... which means for me no help with Lawson. BUT We can do it!

Since its extremely hot outside Lawson and I have decided not to take our walks and stay indoors till hopefully it cools off some.. The average temperature this time of year is 83. So its over 10 degrees hotter than normal out.

Lawson has found his new play mat given to him by Helen, Larry and Clair is alot of fun and keeps him cool !

We hope everyone else is surviving the Dog Days of Summer as well !! Hopefully we will get some relief soon!! Till next time, Take Care and put on some sunscreen :)
